I'm a user of gmail domain beta (use your own domain with gmail) and I
noticed that there is a disconnect between the two accounts. For
instance, my personaized google home account has a different
password(before i changed it) than my gmail domain account even though
the usernames are the same m...@mydomain.com. Also, if I try to use the
gmail preview on the personalized home, it logs in and then asks me to
login again(silently failing).

Not sure where to provide this feedback to google.

Hi Kevin,

Well I don't think you would want the passwords synched because there
will be name clashes, and that could possibly give others access to
your accounts, no?

AFAIK, there is at this time no separate support for domain mail, you
use the regular gmail help contact.

We also have a domain mail group, see my sig.

Peace,
Bill

I understand your point but there should be a way to "link" accounts
from domain mail to gmail accounts. Since I own both accounts, it
would work nicely for myself and my domain mail users.

Kevin, what Bill has mentioned is correct. IMHO it would be a very bad
idea to link a personal GMail account with a Domain Beta account, and
especially shared passwords. It would be a security nightmare, a
hacker's paradise, and a cracker's orgasm!

Hi Kevin,

Well can't you link them simply by choosing one as your "main"
account, forwarding from the secondary to the main, and setting an
alias on the main account to reply from the secondary? That would
solve all issues except chat, but if you really needed to chat on both
accounts at once you can do it.

Peace,
Bill

Maybe you're missing my point. I only have 1 e-mail account, my gmail
domain email account. I'd like the option to link my google account
with my gmail domain account. I.e., I'd like to be able to login to
google's personalized home and use the gmail plugin to show my gmail
domain email. This doesn't work because even though the accounts are
the same username, google thinks they are seperate accounts. When you
have a normal gmail account, you can use it to sign in to gmail
personalized home and any other google service. I want to do the same
but with gmail domain. Conceptually, this is not a complicated request
and from a security stand-point it does not assume additional risk.

There are two potential solutions.
1. Merge the google accounts user database with the gmail domain
account database.
The worry that accounts will be stepped on because of duplicates is
invalid(IMO). This is because if you username is your e-mail, then the
two accounts are the same person since they have the same email
address.
2. Provide a method to 'link' one account to another so that a google
account can reference either a gmail account or a gmail domain account.

Number 1 less messy but either will work.

Yes I missed your point. I thought you were trying to link a gmail
account with a google domain account, not your google personal
homepage.
