It's usefull feature to set password for 'label' or 'labels' when my
'friends' can see 'some' of my mails.

What?  You want to password protect labels?  Why?  If you don't want people seeing messages in those labels, don't let them use your account.  If you want them to see an email you got, then forward it to them.

I don't see the need for that either but something of that sort would be an interesting feature for groups.

For instance, if moderators of a group needed to post to each other on moderator issues to which they don't want the rest of the group to have access, perhaps there could be a means of posting to a protected area of the group, e.g., a protected label, for which only they would receive email copies and only they would have archive access.

Just a thought ...

Nick,
Transfering would be the traditional way---but since when Google does
things like everyone?
Like Kenny said, a shared mail thread might be a useful feature,
similar to what is done on Google Calendar.

CKaroli,
Two ways to do this for now:
- either these message are send to a specific addess, and you can share
the password; there are some Firefox extensions that allow you to use
several Gmail accounts in the same time;
- or there are automatically labeled, and you can have the same filter
forward those to your friends, or a shared account. There are no way to
have one button do the filter *and* the transfer if you don't have a
simple criterion for that---but that is a two-click issue if you select
the relevant messages.

I would like to use 'password for labels' feature for eg. in situation:

eg: I'm on holliday in Africa & my sister have my gmail-password:

- emails in INBOX (my sister can read/answer this emails)
- emails in label-Y (my sister dosn't have the password for label-Y and
she cannot read/answer this emails)
(eg: in label-Y have
: my passwords where I'm registered on other sites (like to
mail.yahoo.com,hotmail.com,..)
: my reports from adsense ......
: my extra-personal emails (like my dates-meeting .. :))
)

(also need to filter contact-list for my sister:)
