Sending powerpoint attachment in email

I have tried several times to send an email with a powerpoint
attachment, and I keep getting a message that the system won't let me,
please try again in a few minutes. Anybody else have that problem, or
is there something I should know?

Compress the file using winrar and send the mail w/ .rar attachment. Alternately try renaming the .ppt to .rar and send.
