Dear Friends

Iam not a computer neard so I will write in simple langugae

In Outlook express (using with Hotmail) when we delete an e-mail, the
e-mail is deleted from the hotmail server also.

But when we use Gmail with Outlook express (or thunderbird etc..) , the
mail deleted in outlook express is not deleted from my gmail account.

In other word Outlook is able to sync with hotmail but iam not able to
do the same with gmail. Is there any Email client which can do
synchronization with gmail.

in your account settings under forward and pop.. you have to choose
the option to delete the copy in your gmail account. that way when the
message is pulled into you outlook express, it is deleted in your
gmail account. you can also specify whether or not you want you
message to stay in the inbox or to be automatically archived.

Thanks for prompt response

If I do as you have suggested. Oulook express will delete the mail from
the Gmail account. This not synchronisation. What I want to do is:

1. When outlook express pulls the mail from Gmail, it should leave a
copy in my Gmail account

2. When I delete the email in Outlook Express and then press the
"Send/Receive" button, The deleted mail is then should be be deleted
from the Gmail account.

Is it possibel to do this with Gmail

i don't understand why outlook express is deleting your emails from
your gmail account. if you specify in your gmail account what you want
done with your emails.. then they shouldn't be deleted off your
account. maybe try using another email client such as thunderbird.

just wondering - for using GMAIL with outlook - do we need to have a
POP account or something...or we can just set it up like hotmail or
IMAP account?

I don't think what Rajesh is trying to do is possible, with IMAP it
would be, but POP3 protocols are not designed that way, and Outlook is
not designed to do this either. You could in theory do something like
that in a custom implementation of a pop3 client, but Outlook does not
support it as far as I know

In reply to Anchal:

you use the gmail pop account, go to your settings and go to
Forwarding and POP and enable POP on your account, you can then get
the server details from clicking Configuration instructions - this
will give you help for various common clients (or if your using
another one you'll have to read a page and extract the details from it

Hope this helps,

MArk

Gmail has allowed POP access. you can now access GMAIl using e-mail
clients. The procedure of setting up is given in the help section of
Gmail

No. This is *not* possible with GMail since Gmail for now only offer
POP3 access which is essentially *not* meant to enable
synschronisation of mails between your mail client (Outlook Express)
and the Gmail server

POP3 only downloads mails (& deletes from the server if configured to do)

What you are referring to is IMAP (another Mail access protocol) which
allows synchronisation & Gmail does *not* offer IMAP now

the only way wish of rajesh can be fulfilled is by gmail giving
facility of imap or http access to emails... http access is not too
difficult right now for gmail... but it needs to be given a thought
and programming...

i am not very sure of this but if we have the script of how gmail
notifier kind of things works... and how websites which are giving
html interfaces for gmail access actually access the accountm... and
how the gmail drive actually functions... may be we can write some
kind of stuff to synchronize the mail boxes in a live connection just
like hotmail's IMAP access allows us to do...

regards,
Ashish.
