Hey guys/gals, I hope you can help me here because the Google recovery form isn't working.  I can't recover my email account because they won't give me access to this account and I'm starting to get frustrated since there's no contact number for gmail which is inconvenient.

I've had this account for a while now and I recently had my phone number changed recently because of personal issues.  I set up the 2 step verification and I have access to the account using the 16 digit code and it's on my iPhone but I can't access my account on the computer to change the phone number on the account because the text messages are going to my old phone number.  I know everything about the account except when I opened the account.

If someone can please help on this that would be great.  I also have a snapshot of the account that's on my iPhone if that helps.

Thank you

Paul

Did you not set up a trusted computer as well?  Did you consider printing out your backup login codes?  Can you get your carrier to temporarily send you the texts headed to your old number?

This page <https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185834?hl=en#phone> implies you could fill out that recovery page without the account set up date "Take time to answer each question to the best of your ability"; since all your other things will be right.

If you have access to the account from the phone, look for the first message they ever put in your mailbox... that will be the day you opened your account.

My reference to that page was for a different problem/solution than the one you highlighted, so you've hijacked this thread from it's original problem to one of your own.  That's rude and not a good way to get help on your problem.

Also, you didn't seem to notice the title of this group is GMail USERS.  A simple search shows that long time members have repeatedly stated that not one single Google Team member is present in this forum, just a bunch of users trying to help each other out.  Sorry your problem eludes you, but the link you highlighted has been reported by other people to work for them, so perhaps your account issue was different from the one referenced.

If you'd like to start a new thread with your actual problem and are willing to listen to people's suggestions, the users in this forum would be happy to try and help you.

Jahanzeb Khan.

How about you try that again, in a polite human way, perhaps also not in red font? I would not respond to that message even if I was a paid Google team member.
