SPEAKING OF SPAM!!!!!.....I just received this piece of spam in response to the message I just sent to our gmail users group regarding the "delete all spam" option reappearing....I've forwarded it so that the Moderators can see it and take the appropriate action.......whenever I send a message I'm going to sign my name and use my last initial so I'm not confused with anyone else...................Bill S

What you received isn't exactly spam, although many may regard it as
such. There are a small number of email filtering services out there
that people can sign up for, that require that you approve the sender
before they can send you email. These services intercept and block
email sent from strangers.

Apparently, "Boxbe" is one of those filters.

The email you received was to let you know that "surendrawipro"
approved you on his or her Boxbe email filters.

This method of email filtering is really annoying, especially on email
groups like this.

If I were you, I'd just ignore the email you received ... unless
"surendrawipro" is someone you know.

Regards,
Andy

Actually, the email he received was to let him know that he had to do
something special for someone subscribing to a mailing list he also
belonged to. If I ever get that, I remove the user in question from my
mailing list immediately.

Fuzzy Logic,
There seems to be some confusion, in this instance,
no action on the part of (Bill) the recipient was required. (unlike some of the previous Boxbe messages that have been received by some members of this Google group, which asked the recipient to take action that proved they were a person ~ by responding)

It is as Andy said: -  This Boxbe message is one of Boxbe's promotional autoresponses, that informs (Bill) the recipient that he has been added to (surendrawipro) the sender's Boxbe "Guest List".
Boxbe sends out these messages automatically; you get one when a Boxbe user adds your e-mail address to their guest list.

The other type of message you get from Boxbe, requires you to respond, to prove you are a person. Those I would ignore & delete.
If someone you know is using Boxbe, they already know you (& your e-mail address), and they can add you to their Guest List; they do not need you to respond to prove you are a person and not a spambot...

A boxbe user's guest list is like a whitelist or filter, any e-mail address that is not on it is excluded from the Boxbe user's inbox, and held in a waiting list to be reviewed. So in theory, only mail from approved senders appears in a Boxbe user's inbox.
However...
Boxbe gets some rather bad press on Wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxbe - suggesting that marketers can get their spam delivered to Boxbe accounts by paying a fee; and that some Boxbe users have complained that Boxbe has spoofed their e-mail addreeses in order to try to recruit new members.

In my opinion, if you need to prioritize your mail and approve or block senders, there are better options.

Ah, you are correct and I misread the message.

The included instruction "Diagnostic code" at the end of the message is rather misleading.
