I keep getting Error Code 008. It started when trying to delete more
than 1 message from a main page (without having to go into each
individual email and delete.) I now have to accept the fact that I
cannot do multiple actions. What is worse is that now I cannot send a
single email. I have tried 100+ times. I ALWAYS GET ERROR CODE 008 and
told to try again in a few seconds. What's the point if it will never
work? Do I need to junk my gmail and go back to Yahoo? All I can do is
receive emails in gmail which is no use whatsoever if I have to then
go into Yahoo and reply from there! There is ZERO help on gmail for
this problem. Upon doing internet searches (even on google's own
search engine which btw is also junk because page 1 was giving me
results from 2005 and 2006) all I find is people asking the question
"why can I not send email attachments?" This is a different scenario
to me getting the same message and even if it wasn't, nobody has given
an actual answer other than "try again". If anybody has any ideas,
please let me know. It cannot be the PC I am on because Yahoo mail
works fine! Thank you

I'm not sure how hard you tried, but in about 3 minutes I found this
on the official Gmail Help pages:
https://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=troubleshooter.cs&problem=bugflow&selected=bugflow_receive16_receive17#end

See if those tips help you.

Thanks Ryan

That did not come up on my search nor could I find an answer when
going via the list of error codes, nor when doing a search on google's
own search engine which gave me results from 2005 and 2006 as the top
results!

Anyway, the error rectified itself a few hours later, which is just as
well seeing as how there appears to be zero support from gmail
themselves.

Thanks
Edward

Well, the help pages are made by Gmail themselves. That should count
for something I think. Plus, the official Google Gmail Group has at
least one employee who occasionally answers questions. Granted,
they're hardly the top poster, but...

Also, you should not be expecting any professional support from a free product.  Sure, many companies that offer free products do provide some sort of support for them, but they don't have too.  Then there are the companies like, say Microsoft that make you pay for their product, and for the support.
