Hello again,

This my first post after a long time!

Any way

I come with a simply yet import personal query ...
Will, I have an old Gmail account, which I created during the
"Invitation Days" and I used it to sign up and subscribe to a lot of
newsletters, forum alert, websites ... etc
Now a day I rarely log in to that Gmail, so how can I forward all of
incoming emails from that Gmail to another Gmail (current) but with
this condition!
I want to forward the all the incoming emails to another Gmail
account, and I want to apply some filters to exclude some incoming
emails from being forwarded!

According to this logic:

InComing Email ...

[Filtering]

If Condition is TRUE/YES
(Filter Applies) - - - - - - > Don't Forward Incoming
Email/s

If Condition is FALS/NO
(Filter NOT Applies) - - - - - - > Forward Incoming Email/
s

The idea is to forward all incoming emails but except the filtered
ones.

How can I do it?
If can't be done is there any way to do it?

What exactly are the conditions?

You can probably put an exclamation point in front of the match criteria in the filter to invert it and then have the matches forward to your new email. IE, if you want to have everything except emails from more...@gmail.com forward to you, you would put in !morehart@gmail.com in the From: match.

I haven't actually checked if that works.

Thanks

Ryan Morehart , It's always a pleasure to see your post :-)

One very important point I forget to mention in my thread!

Settings >
Forwarding and POP/IMAP >
Forwarding: Forward a copy of incoming mail to:
SomeOneEmail@Email[dot]com

By default all incoming emails will be forwarded
to this emial : SomeOneEmail@Email[dot]com

Now can the filters override the default setting for those specific
emails?

I'll experiment, but it'll take time and effort so if you have any
info I would appreciate a reply coz I really don't want miss up
setting...

Thanks

Sharaph

Unfortunately filters can't override that setting. Instead, you'll have to turn that off and create filters with the Forward action set.

Can't you just forward everything, and then put filters on the incoming
account to delete those newsletters you didn't want forwarded?

Hello,

Andrew Ingraham thanks for your reply . . .

It s a logical thought, I thought of it but consider that in my Gmail
I have:

80 of Filters
30 of Labels

Now this will increase the numbers of filters and labels to

100 of Filters
50 of Labels

A level that it is difficult to manage!
Add to that there is no - what you may call -
"Gmail Filters & Labels Management Tools"
You and I can't backup any of my labels or filters!

So I thought sorting this at the source the Gmail account, which is to
be
forwarded and which not... of course I did make some filters for
labeling in that Gmail...

I am thinking of disabling the forward setting, and come up something
different!
If it is possible I'll make a filter to forward all incoming emails to
another emails account
and in same filter list the exception (which not to be forwarded)!

incoming email - - - >

exception-list - - - TO inbox

ordinary - - - FORWARD to other email

* Just an idea if someone can help me with it...

Thanks to all

Yes, you want to disable the forwarding setting on the source Gmail account. Instead, make filters which do the forwarding. (On the second step of creating the filter, you'll see a "Forward" option.)
