Hello,

How to create filter criteria that exclude the matching of the chat
messages (label:chat)?
If I try to specify 'label:chat' in the field 'Doesn't have', and Gmail
will warn that the filter searches containing "label:" criteria are not
recommanded and these criteria will never match incoming mail.

Thanks,
JY

Yes, you can search on "-label:chats" to exclude them from your search.

And, it's right to warn you, cause filters apply before labels are
present, so it won't work in a filter, but works fine in a search.

Thanks for reply.

I have tried to enter "subject:Chat with" in the field "Doesn't have"
for creating a filter,
and it seems to work. It looks workable but ugly.
