Hi, I have a client whose email arrives as blank email with 3
attachments:
noname.txt
noname (no extension)
noname.html

If I download and opn the html doc it says:

"Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature
database 3387 (20080826)
The message was checked by ESET Smart Security.

http://www.eset.com

E-mail message checked by Spyware Doctor (6.0.0.362)
Database version: 5.10550
http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor-antivirus/"

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening, I presume it's
his virus checking but I'd like to be able to read the emails as
normal within GMail without downloading the html file

If someone send you a file , they should type some names so that you
can know the subject of the file . If not it would be dangerous to
open that kind of files . And we can easily says to the account holder
that the files have been checked by (something) . They can contain
some kind of viruses . The best thing you should do is not to open
that kind of files that you never known before.

It is almost certainly his virus scanner. Many e-mail scanners re-
write the message incorrectly when they add the "verification
signature". You could ask him to turn off the signature option, or to
stop scanning outgoing messages.
