You cannot have a Gmail username like that. Gmail has "plus
addressing", where the part before the plus sign is the actual
username, and the part after the plus sign is effectively ignored.
Therefore, a Gmail address of the form you suggested, would mean that
it is equivalent to "ad...@gmail.com", and there is only one such
account. I am sure it is taken already, and possibly reserved for
Google employees.

I suppose you could try "admin...@gmail.com" (such as
"admin...@gmail.com" which is equivalent to "admi...@gmail.com").
It is possible Google doesn't allow usernames that begin with "admin",
but I don't know this. If they allow them, then with 350+ million
Gmail users, it might be hard to find a username of that form that
isn't already taken ... you just need to be creative!

Andy

How about using yourgmailuserid+ad...@gmail.com.  That should work.

Thomas,

They didn't say they were a domain administrator, they said system administrator.  That can be a single machine both within a domain, or separate.

I think Kenneth and Andy have the right idea... use + addressing.

If you are truly an admin or administrator, your email address should be admin at your domain. If you don't know have email set up for your domain, you need to set it up. I you don't know how to do that, you need to find out how. If you don't have a domain, you cannot be an administrator.
