We need to be able to see recently added contacts. With so many
contacts these days, it's almost impossible to remember who is added
sometimes. I'm in a bind because I can't see recently added
contacts. How does Facebook have more advanced contact features than
Google????

Because all Facebook does is worry about your contacts? (and how to harvest more of your personal information and sell it to advertisers without your knowledge, but that's a different story)

Seriously, why would you need to know what contacts have been recently added?

If you have 1500 contacts like I do then being able to see who was added and when is very important. If you added date and time value it would be useful for me at a personal level to be able to mine that data. Also google could make a choice not to self that to third party companies, couldn't they?  I think that we have a paranoia as a society that if a piece of information is gathered it must automatically be used for profit by the "evil empires". Since I did not add my new contact correctly it would be helpful to be able to see who and what I added by date range.

Ok, firstly this is a group of Gmail users not employees and being humans, starting your message with a greeting is appropriate.

You don't need to remember who is added, it's easier enough to search. Create groups, use the 'My Contacts' feature. I like to open the contacts (https://www.google.com/contacts) in a separate tab and work with them that way.
There is always the 'Suggest a feature' page too http://mail.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=suggestions.cs

Please do resist the urge to use multiple question marks (????), it just makes your writing look poor and seem hysterical. One is sufficient. Same goes for bangs (!!!!)

Hi Max

Here is a possible workaround, listing the contacts using command line tools[1] using no sort field seems to return them in the order they were added.
