I have a Google doc, shared with anyone with the link. I do this so I can get to the doc from any computer without logging in. I use it as a persistent white board. Not secure, does not matter.
1. Is there a way to send a text message to the doc?
2. On Apple devices when you go to the URL of the page it asks for log in if it is detected on your device that you have a Google account.  This is not correct. I believe it is a bug with Apple devices. Does anyone see the same problem? How can it be fixed? What is work around?

I would suggest posting to a docs' group, but AFAIK, there is no way to send a text message into the doc, though if you're text message can translate into an e-mail, there used to be an e-mail address where you could send documents in.

No clue on the second one.

Never heard of the ability to send a txt msg to a document (to be appended to the document).

I can send a text msg or an email to a specific email address for my google documents account and it will create a new google document for me with the contents of the email or text message as the contents of the document.  I don't use it very often but when I need it it is handy.  This is a throwback to the days of writely.com (purchased by google and turned into the google documents app you use today).

Not sure how to find out what your @writely.com address is if you don't know it.

This may not solve this particular issue, but there is quite a bit of
functionality available from http://ifttt.com (If This Then That)
It's a pretty cool service that does...well, see here http://ifttt.com/wtf
I don't see any Google Docs integration, but there might be some other
useful tools here.
