Since some people liked the changes that I made, I thought that I might
share some other customizations that I've made to my gmail.

RSS FEEDS
Love Mihai's EmbeddedGoogleReader script
(http://persistent.info/greasemonkey/gmail-reader.user.js) which I've
made some
minor cosmetic changes to
(http://gmail-power-users.googlegroups.com/web/gmailgooglereaderbn.user.js).
Additionally, I've updated my gmail macros script
(http://gmail-power-users.googlegroups.com/web/gmailmacrosBN.user.js)
to have
Feeds as a special label. I still need to have the script detect the
availability of that option, but other than that it works well.

STYLISH
One of my favorite firefox extensions is Stylish. This extension lets
you
change the CSS of a page or even firefox itself, but can be used in
many interesting
situations (including a faster more efficient AdBlock). Install it @
userstyles.org.

- This script is used to hide the google appbar on gmail. It actually
adds a
globe and when the globe is hovered the appbar returns.

- This script is used to make non-html emails use a monospace font. It
also
changes the plain-text editor to use a monospace font.
http://userstyles.org/style/show/1227

- This script modifies the gmail sidebar and adds a fixed height
element.
(The folder is scrolled when there are more messages than space.)
I've
modified this to work with the Feeds script as well.

- This one unbolds and removes the unread count from the Spam label.
It's
pretty easy to add Drafts to this if you want to do the same thing
for that
label.

- Gmail with different attachment icons. Changes the default
attachment icon
based on the filetype.

very nice possibilities with those scripts !!
I just can't make the reader script work but, i tried the others.
The one for the spam label makes me think about the great work done by
the extension called Customize Google : removes adds from gmail+spam
couter !

Well, having people like/use your hacks is certainly addicting. In
order to get my fix, I'm starting this thread that has a list of some
other tweaks that I've been using for my gmail.

· Mihai's Google Reader script:
http://persistent.info/greasemonkey/gmail-reader.user.js . Which I've
tweaked slightly to fix some formatting problems
(http://gmail-power-users.googlegroups.com/web/gmailgooglereaderBN.user.js?gda=C68uTVEAAAAYnZ8q7xG9NW5RZ1n3tYZMlLk98K5ihvmFBZnL8772kRVJVT3hrgKrn_IySc8la3KVihj29ia4STriTvKtS0d4j7FgD57J9lZ7QtArvD3jJQBoJm5_IzpLn_zJ0iAtEpA)
· Additionally, I updated my gmailmacros script to make "Feeds" a
special label.

I don't know how many people are familiar with the Stylish Extension,
but it's awesome. It lets you avoid using some extensions (for example
AdBlock) and is much faster. But it's real strong capabilities lie in
letting you tweak the CSS for a site however you want. These following
changes tweak the appearance of Gmail and in my opinion make it a
cleaner and slicker interface.
· Change the spam label from bold to normal and remove the unread
count. Personally, I also modified this one to hide/change the Drafts
label.
http://userstyles.org/style/show/96
· Gmail attachment icons:
http://userstyles.org/style/show/226
· This is one that I created to minimize the google appbar at the
top. On hover it changes back to normal (sort of it's slightly
transparent and a little larger so the mouse doesn't fall off
inadvertently).
http://userstyles.org/style/show/1226
· Gmail sidebar and fixed height: You can change this one to just use
the sidebar code by removing the height attribute of the #tbd selector.
(Or you can set the height there to whatever you need to fill up your
screen.). There is a problem with this if you use the keyboard and you
have a long list of emails. The caret on the side that shows the
current message can get misaligned as it doesn't take into account the
scrolling abilities of the new gmail.
http://userstyles.org/style/show/1225
· Change non-html emails to monospace. This also changes the plain
text compose to a monospace font.
http://userstyles.org/style/show/1227

If you like them let me know. I can't guarantee that these work 100%
of the time, so if you find a problem or fix a problem with them, let
me know.

Sorry for the repeat but I put this one through and it never appeared
so I wrote the other one. This thread can be deleted for all intents
and purposes if that's possible.

LOL! checked them all. yes, they're gr8. but dont add much to
productivity. just the looks as such. however, i found a coupl-a-tweaks
in userstyles that actually do help... some of them are -

Useful ones:
Add a keyword when adding a bookmark
Add Bookmark Dialog: Show Folder Tree
Almost Fullscreen
Better Scrollbars
Change cursor on some links with JS.
Cursor indicator
Toolbar Show/Hide
tabbar autohide

for the GUI:
Combine Stop/Reload buttons
WellRounded 2
Custom throbber
Firefox 2: Menus and menubar with 3D border
Net Error Custom Icons
Stylish - Use prettier icons in Manage Styles (also helps if u have a
dark theme)

Site GUI:
Brushed Look For Gmail
Brushed Look For Gmail LogIn
Brushed Look for Google
Orkut Stripped and brushed

If u use dark themes:
Zathman's Dark About:Blank 1.0
Light text on black background
Style the "Highlight all" results (Ctrl+F)

Sorry i couldnt include url's for all those. So search 'em, u lazy
bones ;-)

This thread's going off the main topic, but lets keep userstyles in
here now. No longer the need to delete the thread.
(BTW, does the adbolck one download the ads and merely hide them or
what? i found adblock plus - the extension more useful)
(p.s. Guys, i'm no author for any of those scripts/styles. just a
messenger. But can always rate this post if found useful!)
