My wife recently switched from the iPhone 6 to the IPhone X. In doing so she was prompted for password for gmail while setting up the new phone. Not sure if the password has been changed since the account has been created and when answering the security questions correctly I get the google cant verify its me message. There is no phone number linked to her account and I thought my email was linked for recovery but it's been 12 years since the account had been set up and she can not remember her password. Please help!

tried to reset pw again and says it can not verify its me .. yet i used this email from the same IP for 4 yrs .. and i get the same response each time i try to sign in can not verify the account belongs to me .. I will get an email in 1-3 days or 1-3 hours and its the same instructions I have been given 25 times but I get to  type in forgot email sends message to my phone i say yes and then it ask to send a code to my phone it skips to my recovery email and it says can not verify its me  all over again

I look on my phone i have the correct telephone number in my email and the recovery email I am typing in and Yet they can not verify its me

this has been going on for 4 days now

I am lost at what to do .. I use that email for work and i need to be back in that email
