I would absolutely LOVE (love, love, love, love, LOVE) to have gmail
have a custom frequency (or just some other options) for when it
checks other email accounts. I have multiple email accounts, some of
which need to be checked fairly often. Instead of having to manually
go into Accounts and click to have it check now on each account, it
would be nice if I could have the option to check more often.
Thanks for considering it! I love gmail!

another option would be a link to check mail on every other account

Why is google not taking notice of this?

A very need option!

Agree with the posters above, not having this feature is bad for the
economy.
I would pay for such a feature. Business is slowed down by not being
able to (automatically) check other mail accounts more often, and the
algorithm that's currently in place is not sufficient. Either let us
specify the frequency that other mail accounts are checked, or please
improve the algorithm that's making decisions on when to check.
As you can see, there are many people begging for this. One day soon,
I hope a tech on the Gmail team misses an important, timely email, and
sees the urgency to improve this aspect of the platform... perhaps
that's what it will take, really is only a matter of time.
Thank you in advance.

Any macro program will work, just leave a window open, preferably on a
dedicated machine for this very purpose, go to the settings page where
you usually click to "check mail now", use the macro program to locate
the x and y axis of that spot to click, and set the software to do
just that, over and over (play nice, give it a reasonable delay such
as a minute or two).
This macro program is good and easy:
http://www.mjtnet.com/macro_scheduler.htm
Using that software, your script would be simply these two lines:

MouseMove>48,160
LClick

(48,160 would be the respective x and y axis on your machine)

Then set it on whatever schedule suits your preferred frequency.
