Gmail needs to add " Read Receipt "

The only problem I have with Gmail is that I don't have any idea if my
email is being read without the reader replying with an email. When
deadlines are urgent... it would be nice to have confirmation that
what you send is being opened and read. A read receipt is an
acknowlegement without having to waste time with follow-up emails.
It's obviously a common complaint... so please Gmail... add this
optional feature!!!
