Hi all,

The Google Calendar and Google Docs gadgets don't fully support HTTPS
yet. If you've enabled the 'Always use https' setting and have
enabled the Google Calendar or Google Docs gadget, you may see a mixed
content warning -- our engineers are aware and working on it.

Awesome!

This is _exactly_ what I had come here to post.

I agree - this is a problem for me, I would like to see the calendar
be secured so that this mixed content warning will go away.

I don't even have that setting in my Gmail (GAFYD). But, whether I
enable or disable SSL in GAFYD domain settings, it still doesn't work.
Nor in the basic Gmail.com.

Very frustrated. What can I do?

I agree.
Thank you Google Guide Purple for the status update.
With insecure wireless as prevalent as it is today it is a wonder to
me that all personal data isn't secured. I realize there is overhead
for the servers/clients and that it generally slows everything down
but it is not like it takes us back to the days of dial-up or
anything.

Ditto....except I did post it as I didn't see this note first. So
everyone else please disregard my other post. ;)

I just got through posting the following after much fruitless
searching:
-------------------------------------
to Gmail Help Discussion - Gmail and Chrome <Gmail-and-Chrome-
e...@googlegroups.com>
date Mon, Dec 1, 2008 at 9:30 PM
subject Gmail "Authentication Required"
mailed-by gmail.com
hide details 9:30 PM (5 minutes ago)

Reply

Starting yesterday, Gmail in Chrome is displaying a popup saying
"Authentication Required" and requesting a username/password. This
behavior is unique to Chrome - doesn't happen in Firefox or IE. It's
also apparently unique to my home laptop. It's not happening on my
work computer. I've been using Gmail in Chrome since the first day it
was available without issue until now.

The behavior began after many hours of having Gmail running - all of a
sudden I start getting this popup. I am reluctant to actually supply
a username/password, thinking this might be a phish. The popup
doesn't interfere with being able to use Gmail - it just won't go
away. It's really obnoxious.

1) is this popup being generated by Gmail/Chrome or is it malware?
2) is there a fix or workaround?
-------------------------------

My wife happened upon the following posting suggesting a problem with
the calendar gadget in Gmail using https:
http://groups.google.com/group/Google_Web_Search_Help-Personalizing/browse_thread/thread/ff21697b1f47c065

It seems that removing the calendar gadget from Gmail solved the
problem. It would be nice if this answer had appeared in the Gmail
and Chrome help forum.

Hi,
Don't know if this is the appropriate thread to post my question but
here it is (and thank you in advance if you can indicate me the right
thread):
Since the Calendar gadget in Gmail allows to display a looooong list
of forthcoming events: is it possible to pull the information in order
to print it in a agenda or (even better) calendar view? (the idea is
to have the possibility to print the year view calendar...)
Thank you in advance,
Stefan
