Google Groups as Gmail gadget

Hi everyone!

I'm getting really puzzled about trying to find any kind of working code for this: i'm willing to find a way to be notified of any change on the google groups i'm subscribed. It may work via a gadget that either displays the groups i'm subscribed, or notifies anyhow the updates.

I'm trying to avoid receiving so many mails, and have a simple way to receive notifications. 

Is there any application that works this way? 

Or would you show me any example of how it should be done?
