Ooops! "Google Calendar" failed to load. Try again

I know this error has a ton of posts here but all of them look to be 2010ish. I am getting this now after enabling the calendar widget. 

MacBook Pro Sierra 10.12.1

Chrome Version 54.0.2840.98 (64-bit)

The error in the console is:
