and, as the number one hit on a Google search for "gmail notifier",
this link:

purport to lead the way to the gmail notifier. In fact, they lead to
a blank page containing no more than

"Not Found

Error 404"

Jez,

Those are for the official gmail notifier... It looks like google got
them fixed.
