you failed the quest :D

you mailed from the same address but ur address is assigned two different colors purple and green.. which is a bug with gmail since one time ur email address seems to be all small, and next time it seems to have one letter capitalized... since email addresses by nature are case insensitive, so gmail should also check for them while assigning the colors in a case insensitive manner...

I will have to confirm, but i think same bug can be raised for address plussing and dotting...

ashish.

I see what you mean *lol* but I'm still confused as to why it's a bug that would cause a problem.

a bug need not cause a problem... a bug is a flaw in the program, and can be harmless too...

Where I responded to some messages on there what they are talking about is:

At one point my address shows up as Laze...@gmail.com and it is one color.
On another message that I replied to it shows up as laze...@gmail.com and it's a different color than the other so the color coding thing is messed up.

did you post any of the messages from the groups interface as opposed to from gmail? That might be the reason.

Actually come to think about it I think the very first message that I posted was straight to the group page and not from Gmail so that could be the reason.

even then, the only difference observable is the difference in caps which should be ignored while comparing two addresses...

with the point raised by Caleb however, this cud be a feature (which is another name for a decorated bug)

I noticed that the first keith is green and has a capital L and the
other 2 keith's are purple and have a lowercase l. maybe that is
confusing gmail. I am probably wrong, but anyway, ya.
