Ok,

I didn't like the way a gmail account was setup and I selected the
"Delete All Account Info" option. I understood that within 48 hours
the original address would be available again. However I found that it
was not. It is a unique name so I doubt anyone else picked it up.

Just wondering, do the accounts really become available again after
deletion?

i was under the impression that account usernames do get recycled..

the problem with instant recycling is that you'd be getting somebody
elses mail that hadn't changed

while I doubt anything important would come, it would suck to open
your new email account in a couple of days and find tons of irrelvant
crap

I thought I read on here that 6 months when it came dormant and 2 or 3
when it was recycled.
