Since this was not mentioned much (and I don't post much here), I thought I should bring this up. With every occasion, Gmail puts something different on the front page. I'll send an attachment because I'm sure many don't want embedded images.

just a friendly reminder to all gmail-generation members that inline images sent to the group are not permitted. that means, quite simply, do not embed images in your emails to the group.

we can copy & paste them in or forward/reply to one w/ inline images,
but not add them directly (i.e. by pressing a button)

I don't think it was a joke ;) I think they were trying to say that
they'll always be one step better than the rest. Im my opinion, I
believe they are.

Google is making the point that their technology far outdoes that of Yahoo's and Microsoft's when it comes to raw storage cost. They can effectively offer infinite storage to every user and it would cost them a tiny fraction of what it would cost their two major competitors (yahoo and Microsoft). Eventually (5-10 years) no one will ever know what a gigabyte or terrabyte is. No one will care. No one will measure disk space or file size. No need, we'll have so much on our computers and elsewhere that its not a concern anymore. (holographic storage).

...hmmm are you sure. I remember when people said "1 MB?  who could possible need that much space?" Thats why PCs started with 640kb.

bill gates actually had little to do with the design of the original
PC so I don't see how he could be attributed with that quote...

You don't have to have much to do with the design of the original PC
to defend it with asinine statements.

this is getting very offtopic very fast, but I don't believe it was
actually his quote as much as people would like it to be :)
