i've not bothered to search elsewhere for this information just for the fact
that i figured this might start some interesting discussion, but anyway....
does anyone have any idea which 3rd party company google are going with for
their anti-virus email scanning? again, i'm not sure how much info is out
their in the press about this eh, so feel free to point out the obvious if
need be. ;)

I'd thought that they were making their own virus scanning system for
email

I've never had any problem with virus's from email, so I don't know
much in this field

but if they block spam, then the've blocked the viruses

I suppose if they enable attachment scanning they will go with Mcafee
probaly, but really there's no need, just make sure users have virus
scanning software checking what they download

no, they will be using a 3rd party for av scanning... so i've heard.

> if they block spam, then the've blocked the viruses

but not all of them, hey.

> just make sure users have virus scanning software checking what they
download

sorry, but it should not be google's job to make sure that users have
virus scanning software installed. that's a silly statement, imo.

yeh its the users responsibility to be careful when using their
computers. gmail and google can only do so much.
