My New Features! link had disappeared a day or two ago, today it's back but no changes have been made to it (or my account, for that matter) since last time I saw it.  This isn't the first time it has been intermittent in its appearance.  Anyone else noticing this?

The best guess I can come up with is that the link is set to auto-disappear ~n days after the last change and reappears and is automatically turning back on each time adjustments are made to the quote the account is set to slowly grow to.

yeah, mine vanished too but reappeared today and i thought for a second it was cause i got web clips.  Your theory soudns good to me.  the only other thing i thought of was that there are now 13 languages, though you have to "learn more" to see that.

Yes. The same thing happened to me. I was excited when "New Features"
showed back up, but there were none. No "Web Clips" for me.

Yet.

I think I should start using the web interface more often. I use
Outlook Express for GMail (coz of better control over the address book)
and kinda miss all these quirky things that Gmail does like "new
features" disappearing and reappearing. I still got the new features on
there and have no idea if it ever disappeared for me. But I agree I am
a new features jinkie too, hell we all are.

Something I just ran across... Not sure how factual it is.

Gmail maintains however that the Clips are purely a limited test for now. A small number of randomly selected users are testing the feature, but it may become more widely available in the future. As of right now, I am not one of the chosen ones. However, here's how you can see if you are Gmail Clip-worthy:

Manky old hyperlink. Same old http://support.... thing. Relative link, you know.

Here's the full URL, for the curious:

http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=18219&query=clips&topic=0&type=f&ctx=en:search

It doesn't give us any information we don't know, in regards to
whether we're going to get clips or not. It's just Google's five-step
list to set up the web clips if they're already there.

Wantsss web clipssesss...WE WANTSSSSSSS IT!

Yeah, somebody had to say it that way. *g*

I just wanted to thank you for posting the link, before you thought I
was being ungracious by only complaining about it. :)

This post, and discussion of it, is an administrative issue. Anyone is
welcome to e-mail their Friendly Neighborhood Moderator of choice if
there's a problem. I will be sending out some individual e-mails
myself, on this matter.

The thread is not closed, but let's not have more responses in this
"sub-thread."

I think the New Features link is gone for good now... well at least until something new comes out of the works.
