you also have to make sure you enable pop in your gmail account, among other
things.

Hi james,

I'm sending you the whole set of instructions to set up pop access in
Outlook attached in a *.pdf file

Don't forget to enable POP access in your Gmail settings, if you don't do it
, it won't work at all.

Hope it will help you.

you enabled the advanced SSL settings? PORT 465 // smtp.gmail.com //
Requires authentication (checked/ticked)?

should work then. also, i've noticed that in outlook you need to "finish"
creating an account before outlook's "test-account" feature will work with
gmail. it's not very intuitive i know but that's the way it works for me.
try it and post back.

Kris,

If you follow the instructions showed in the pdf file I just sent to james
AND enable pop access in the gmail settings it will work, 100% sure thing.

I just did it.
