I consider myself fortunate to have a '68 set in great condition----
and do a lot of wash with them. I especially enjoy the good overflow
rinse and the RapiDry spin.

They are truly amazing machines!

Here's a question - I have a 1963 Canadian Frigidaire washer with the solid tub and 1000 RPM spin.  Would this mechanism be the rollermatic??

Hey Paul - your '63 Deluxe is a Multimatic, with a max spin speed of 710 RPM.  While slower than the earlier Multimatics (850) and the later Rapid-dry Rollermatics (1010), it still breezes by many others for the era.

The pulsator column in your machine is just spectacular.  My '63 Custom Imperial is also in really good shape but had the '63 column replaced with the later Jetcone agitator at some point in it's life.  Bummer!

Anyone out there have some extra '63 pulsator columns on hand?

Ben, any Unimatic/Multimatic column will work although obviously you
would want a '63-'64 for authenticity. The '60-'62 columns are nice
because of the colors and lettering on the cap. I am thinking I might
know where to find some '62 parts or even a complete column. I'll let
you know.

Well, the Rapidry Rollermatics would have been right about that spin
speed. Have you ever gotten under it and viewed the mechanism? You
would certainly see the rollers! Frigidaire continued to use the
Unimatic mechanism commercially right on into the mid-1960's in their
commercial machines. They looked just like a '65 or '66 Rollermatic
and they even had a Jet-Action Agitator but they had that Unimatic
mechanism that gave them great Rapidry capability and a quick cycle.
There was a Frigidaire coin laundry I knew of in Tampa that was still
using this type of commercial machine well into the mid-1980's!

Excuse me---according to the detergent cap on my Rollermatic the
Agitator is a "Deep Action Agitator with Jet-Away Lint Removal" not
simply a "Jet-Action" agitator. Just wanted to be politically correct
on this one.
