Dear colleagues,
the Beilstein Glyco-BioInformatics Symposium is held in Limburg (Germany) in the end of June. If you have not done so yet, please consider attending the meeting. Its a great opportunity to share your work and start collaborations.
Registration will close soon.
Best,
René

Subject: Beilstein Glyco-Bioinformatics Symposium 2019 - poster and software demonstration
Dear colleague,
It would be a pleasure to me to welcome you at the upcoming
Beilstein Glyco-Bioinformatics Symposium
Time-proof Perspectives on Glycosciences
25 - 27 June, 2019
Domhotel
Limburg, Germany
This symposium is organized in a joint-effort by Kiyoko Aoki-Kinoshita, Matthew Campbell, Frédérique Lisacek, Joe Zaia, and myself (Carsten Kettner).
As usual, this symposium will bring together glycochemists and biologists with experts in bioinformatics and computer sciences and will not only look back at the roots of glycosciences 30 odd years ago but also gather perspectives of present and future applications of glycomics.
Speakers: K. Aoki-Kinoshita (Soka University), M. Campbell (Griffith University), C. de Castro (University of Napoli), C. Costello (Boston University), R. Cummings (Harvard Medical School), R. Field (John Innes Centre), M. Frank (Biognos AB), J. Jiménez-Barbero (CIC bioGUNE), G. Lauc (University of Zagreb), T. Lindhorst (Kiel University), F. Lisacek (SIB), A. McDonald (UC Dublin), N. Packer (Macquarie University), K. Pagel (FU Berlin), J. Paulson (The Scripps), C. Radermacher (MPI of Colloids and Interfaces), R. Ranzinger (CCRC, University of Athens), S. Ricard-Blum (University of Lyon), B. Schumann (Imperial College), H. Tateno (AIST), P. Toukach (Zelinsky Institute), N. Terrapon (Aix-Marseille University), H. Wandall (University of Copenhagen), J. Zaia (Boston University)
Aspects:
* unravelling the complexity of structures and functions of glycoconjugates,
* development of glycan-based vaccines
* glycans as markers to detect viruses, pathogens etc.
* diagnosis of glycan-related diseases
* integration of data from glycomics, proteomics and genomics resources creating a systems wide functional network,
* strategies for mining and analysing large data sets and high-throughput data,
* software tools for data storage, analysis, mining and sharing,
* any further suggestions are welcome!
Poster and Software presentation:
This conference provides young researchers the opportunity to present their latest research results to a very open-minded audience either with the display of a poster and a short (5 min) lighting talk or by demonstration of a piece of code introduced by a 2 min elevator talk. Deadline for application is 11 June, 2019.
The venue:
Limburg is a small city with a historic old town that dates back to its first reference in 910 AC. Limburg is located about 70 km north of Frankfurt, Germany. Limburg is very well connected to the Frankfurt International airport via the high-speed train (ICE) which brings you to Limburg (Süd/South station) within about 20 min. The hotel is only 10 min away on bus or taxi.
More information are provided on the conference website at:

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you require further information. We would appreciate your response by email as soon as possible.
With kind regards,
Dr. Carsten Kettner
