Crashing when checking for update

I just started having a problem when checking for updates. In a
standalone, it crashes with no error message. In the IDE, it crashes
with this error:
glx_shutdownApplication error: 91,2300,7
108,2300,1
It happens with LC 6.5.2 and 6.6.2 - every time.
Otherwise everything seems to be OK. Any clues as to what I can check?

I finally tracked this down to an
section of code that I thought I'd removed any calls to (a beta
time-out ). Sorry for the false alarm.
