I just released GLWallpaperService version 0.9.2. In this version, the
Renderer classes that you develop can now be used with a GLSurfaceView
on an Activity. You could use this to test rendering code without
worrying about wallpaper quirks, or to share Renderer code with a non-
wallpaper app.

From the release notes:
* You can now use a GLWallpaperService.Renderer to draw to a
GLSurfaceView. The interface GLWallpaperService.Renderer, which used
to be a stand-alone interface, now extends GLSurfaceView.Renderer. The
method signatures remain the same. Although most projects will be
unaffected, be mindful of whether this change would affect your
project.
