For full game production, the Virtools Dev framework brings together a GUI with graphical and text scripting and debug tools, APIs such as the Dev behavior and render engines, as well as asset integration plug-ins. The framework offers flexibility, performance and the promise of solid, industry-proven development architecture.
SBS Technologies, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded computer solutions, is continuing its role as an embedded computer industry market leader by announcing the VXS1 VITA 41-based InfiniBand enabled Single Board Computer (SBC) and the IB4X-V41 24-port VITA 41-based InfiniBand switch. These products work together to offer a 10 Gigabit/sec switched fabric interconnect over a VME bus. This high-performance InfiniBand technology solution for transferring data between embedded computer boards supports the VITA 41 VXS switched fabric specification developed by the VITA Standards Organization (VSO) to enhance the performance of the VMEbus architecture.
The MIPS architecture has key design wins in a range of portable consumer applications. OEMs shipping MIPS-Based portable consumer applications include Canon, Casio, Fujifilm, Fujitsu, JVC, Minolta, PENTAX, Philips, Samsung and Sony.
Mercury is co-developer of the RapidIO interconnect architecture, which is designed for compatibility with mainstream integrated communications processors, host processors, and networking digital signal processors. Serial RapidIO is the latest generation, scalable, reliable, low latency transport through switches and between devices that is critical to supporting the demands of embedded computing, wireless, and storage applications.
Pentax has an amazing RAW (and JPEG has a matter of fact) engine on their cameras since the K-x (and switch to sony sensors), but after seeing the level of detail the new 24MP sensors are capable of, I won't be cashing in for anything less (High ISO can bite me, I seldom go anywhere north of ISO 1600...)
Regarding the K-01, I thing Pentax didn't went far enough (I actually like the looks of it), If the point was making am entire diferent camera they could've gone for a cube look or something like a cross between a video cam and a Lytro... Not having a swivel screen on a non OVF cam is a dealbreaker, they could've capture a huge following if they just tried to make a more forward thinking video/stills camera, and leaving room on their line up for a conventional K-r successor...
