A couple of weeks ago I was asked at the GLUG.net-Certification Study
Group to discuss a free DataGridView from a company called Xceed.

Silverlight and WPF are the newer generation of Winforms and ASP.net.
Microsoft is investing heavly into these products because it is
allowing seperation of code between the GUI layer and the other layers
a programmer must face. The problem with WPF and Silverlight
currently is that all the controls are not available yet.

Great news! XCeed has the solution when it comes to a datagraid. Not
only can you use it, but take a look at it to see the future of the
Presentation Layer of programming.

It is available at the following website. http://xceed.com/Grid_WPF_Intro.html

Its DEMO is Great and you have to at least see it!

Let me know if you want more.

Steven - I went on the XCeed web site and played around with the
DataGridView. While it had the "wow" factor, it was quite slow. So
from a user experience standpoint, I got tired of it very quickly.
What good is eye candy, when you performance crawls along? Now, (I'm
not sure on this point) the component I believe is built using
Silverlight 2.0, which is still in beta, and from Jason Beres'
presentation at our last Glugnet meeting, it seemed obvious the WPF is
still a WIP(work in progress), and has performance issues that
Mirosoft is working on.

Jason's company Infragistics as another FREE tool called WPF
xamDataGrid, and from the video on their web site, looks quite similar
to the XCeed product, but I don't know how performant it is until I
test it out. You can look it up at:
