Problem in jcache-ing the mss tape files

Hi folks,

I am trying to jcache some files:

[hsingh@ifarm2402 BCAL_LED]$ jcache get /mss/halld/RunPeriod-2026-06/calib/ver00/BCAL-LED/Run150191/hd_rawdata_150191_001.BCAL-LED.evio

but I am getting the following error:

get request: -1

status: failed

/cache/mss/cache/halld/cache/RunPeriod-2026-06/cache/calib/cache/ver00/cache/BCAL-LED/cache/Run150191/cache/hd_rawdata_150191_001.BCAL-LED.evio -> failed (not in tape library)

But I checked that files indeed are in the tape. Do you have any idea on what might be causing this issue and how to resolve this?

this is interesting:
jcache list /cache/halld/RunPeriod-2026-06/calib/ver00/BCAL-LED/Run150191/hd_rawdata_150191_001.BCAL-LED.evio
0 pin        taped    hd_rawdata_150191_001.BCAL-LED.evio

so it should be on tape? this is a very new file isn't it?

Hi Harsimran,

I'm seeing the same error. However, the path in the error message looks odd:

`/cache/mss/cache/halld/cache/RunPeriod-2026-06/cache/calib/cache/ver00/cache/BCAL-LED/cache/Run150191/cache/hd_rawdata_150191_001.BCAL-LED.evio
`

This path definitely doesn't exist. It appears that jcache inserted
additional `cache` strings after every 2nd segment in the original path.
Your best option is probably to open a ticket.

I’m also seeing this error for recent files that should be on tape. I agree that this should be elevated to a ServiceNow ticket. Did you already do that Harsimran, and if so can you share the link to the ticket?
