Issue processing 2025 BCAL-LED data files with hd_root

Hi folks,

I am doing the BCAL-LED monitoring and for that I am running the command: 

hd_root -Pplugins=BCAL_LED -Pnthreads=8 hd_rawdata_130942_013.BCAL-LED.evio -o output.root

The .evio file i am using are available at: /mss/halld/RunPeriod-2025-01/calib/ver00/BCAL-LED/ 
(I was advised to use files from: /cache/halld/RunPeriod-2025-01/calib/ver00/BCAL-LED/ but there are no files there.)

Now, the issue is that when I run this command it gives me following message: 

and at the end it says: Final report: 0 events processed at 0.0 Hz

I ran this command on multiple 2025 files and received the same result.

When I run the exact same command: hd_root -Pplugins=BCAL_LED -Pnthreads=8 hd_rawdata_120440_100.BCAL-LED.evio -o output.root

on a file from the 2023 run data set it processes it fine as expected. 

I’ve attached the logs from both runs (log_2023.txt and log_2025.txt) for reference.

Any idea what might be going on here or if I'm missing something?

Dear Harsimran,

The so-called "stub" files on /mss are just small text files with some information about the real file stored on tape. To get a file to disk, you can use the command:

"jcache get /mss/halld/RunPeriod-2025-01/.../your_file.evio"

After a little while, it will appear in the /cache directory and your command should work.
