I remember reading through one bestselling cookbook at some very pretty salad recipes and being downright appalled when the author declared that she does not do salad dressing recipes. Instead, she believes that salads should simply be drizzled with a bit of oil and vinegar at the end.
Mixing it with chopped Romaine lettuce is the best way to showcase the vinaigrette. Sometimes I also add some sliced celery for more crunch and freshness. This is a salad that goes with just about anything that you might prepare.
Jamie! This is the most special and beautiful comment! THANK YOU! And, please give your husband a big Mama Ally hug! I love your combo of romaine, cucumbers and sourdough croutons. So simple yet exquisitely divine! I try to make this dressing and store in a Ball jar for use on roasting veggies, too. So so versatile! Thank you! xoxx ally
I am absolutely a garlic fan and cannot wait to try the dressing and salad. I have been watching you with your visit to Bobby? My question is of all the wooden bowls you recommend on Amazon, which one is your absolute favorite? I would like a very large one because I entertain often. Thank you for your time and all of your wonderful healthy but tasty recipes ?
Toby! Thank you! Yes, this is a great go to dressing. I actually make it and store in a jar (refrigerate). It can be used for lots of things where you want to pack on some unique flavors! Thanks so very much for stopping! xoxx ally
Oh my! This salad dressing and salad is so so delish. Doubled it to have for the rest of the week. Added the celery and freshly grated parm. Thank you for the fabulous recipe. Also ordered the French mustard, yum. Looking forward to trying so many of your recipes thank you again ?
I made your lovely dressing last night for dinner for my family. It was a big hit. I loved how the garlic bits taste sweet compared to the rest of the ingredients. Thank you again fir sharing the recipe and letting us peep in while you cooked with Bobbi and Desi. What a wonderful treat.
Did you know that California produces over 95% of the olives grown in the U.S.? Hundreds of farmers and their families work each year to bring California Ripe Olives from their farms to your table. Harvest generally starts in early September and concludes in mid-November, so we are right in the middle of the harvesting season!
This recipe is really a twofer. In addition to this Creamy Garlic Olive Dressing, we have also included a fabulous salad idea for you to try. Skirt steak, olives, fennel, peppers, and potatoes all come together to create a Celebration Salad that everyone is going to enjoy.

Hi! We are making this tonight. I have all prepped. For the marinated onions, we just use the oil drizzled, not the onions, right?
I did triple the onion recipe your counter onions would be a bit!
If you can email the reply, I would be grateful.
Thank you!!

Teri. This salad was BOMB!!! ?? My fennel bulb was rotten on the inside, so I just skipped it, added red onion to the grill, pepperoncini, and extra chives to the salad itself. The dressing is SO GOOD! It makes the dish. Thanks for the great recipe.
This Creamy Garlic Dressing uses simple ingredients to make a rich and delicious salad dressing recipe you will fall in love with. Most of the ingredients are already in your refrigerator and pantry. And while you will love this dressing right after you make it, it is even better the next day.
How much milk you add to this recipe will entirely depend on how thick you like your salad dressing. I suggest starting with 1/2 a cup and adding more from there. I ended up adding 1/4 cup more to get the pourable dressing you see here.

I use mayonnaise. From a texture and consistency perspective they are interchangeable. That being said, their tastes are vastly different with Miracle Whip adding quite a bit of sweetness, and I would not ever use them interchangeably.
The basic formula is 2 parts oil to 1 part of vinegar plus all the add ins like shallot, garlic, salt and pepper. This recipe has just a touch less vinegar than normal but feel free to up it per your taste preference.
Divine recipe used it on many things besides a basic basil salad dressing. Doubled recipe as that is worth the effort and gave some as a gift in a pretty small ball jar. Added 2 juiced lemons plus 1/2 cup more olive oil when recipe was doubled. That might've kept the color bright green. Delicious!!
This was SO good. I am forever buying basil at the store and only using part of the bunch and then end up throwing the rest away (which drives me crazy). I googled what to do with too much fresh basil and this came up. Had it with tomatoes, avocado and feta as a lunch salad with some fresh bread to sop up the excess (wonderfully puckery tart) vinaigrette.
Definitely a keeper!
So glad I finally got around to making this today. I could totally eat it with a spoon. Using it to make pasta salad tomorrow.
I don't have a "high powered blender" but my $40 immersion blender worked just fine. (My dressing came out looking just like the picture)
Crisp Cucumber Salad with a tasty Herb & Garlic Vinaigrette is beautifully refreshing with a boost of flavour from the dressing. A terrifically versatile quick side salad that pairs with literally everything!
Loved this! And so did my family, including 4yo and 2yo (the latter of whom is normally reluctant to eat cucumbers). Just kept the red onion off theirs, I thoroughly enjoyed it all together . Perfect accompaniment to the lamb borek!
Wow, this dressing is delicious! I love finding recipes for homemade salad dressings and this is great. It will be nice to make in the summer using fresh herbs from the garden. Thank you for posting this.
This is so yum and fresh, especially on a hot summers day! I thinly sliced the red onion and marinated it in the red wine vinegar while I prepared everything else. I also used fresh basil and thyme instead of dried herbs and threw in some finely sliced rocket too. YUM!
Finely mince the garlic and add to a bowl or jar with all ingredients. Start with just 1/4 cup of water. When mixing anything with tahini, it usually looks kind of weird at first, just keep mixing and it will come together.
Make it spicy! I also love a little spice every now and then, so a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne pepper is delicious! This recipe is very customizable, so feel free to get creative!

I found your recipe this afternoon while thinking about what to do with my leftover salmon. I whipped it up and put together an easy salad. This is my 3rd time making a tahini dressing and yours is the winner, I loved it. I used sugar free maple syrup and the taste was delicious!
Delicious! I tried it again without the Dijon and maple syrup, then added soy sauce in replacement of salt and added apple cider vinigar in replace of some water, plus more garlic because I just love garlic, it was amazing for my grain Bowls and on kale!
When my friend presented his stunning dressing to me, I immediately became a fan of this unique ingredient. We enjoyed it with just some fresh salad greens that day, but over the course of that week I also slathered it on my avocado toast and roasted vegetables.

A Vinaigrette is a mixture of oil and something acidic that is used as a salad dressing or a marinade. You can have a mixture of oil and vinegar, or oil and citrus and you will have a homemade vinaigrette salad dressing. There are some vinaigrette salad dressings that are made with red wine vinegar, some are made with white wine vinegar and some are made with a citrus fruit like a lemon and lemon juice.
