Unsure if the old GLPRO list still works, but since I thought this might interest some old GLPRO users....

A few months ago I saw an article about examining the source code for the original Mac Paint, and it talked about PC Paint (which I wrote).
I sent the author a few small corrections, and he asked me to do an interview on the early days of PC graphics programming, and my experiences/life.
It ended up taking a while to research and finish this interview.

Here it is!

Hi John!!

Saw your name on my inbox and thought "there's no way in hell ever he's the same GLPRO's John since ... 25 years ago".

Nice interview John, nice good memories as well...

Unfortunately I'm no longer within the programming industry

I responded once on the AfterGrasp list, but thought I should respond here also.  I have two different emails for the two groups, so I happened to see AfterGrasp first.

Luis Felipe Escobar beat me to the punch responding here.

I should add that I am now 81 and have been retired for about 7 years.

Anyway, here was my response there:

Yes, it still works!  I haven't read through yet because I wanted to be the first to respond.

I suspect any work I did for various museums and visitor centers has been retired.  But I still have a working app that I wrote for my church about 5 years ago (with a few revisions since).  I automatically displays a countdown clock for the streaming service.  Works and looks great!

My first job using Grasp was for the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.

I have now done that.  A very interesting read.

Incidentally, I still have archives of both the GLPRO and AFTERGRASP forums in my email.  The GLPRO one spans from Feb 20, 1999 with the last entry  on Dec 22 2005.  Oddly, it appears I never received any GLPRO email on GoogleGroups even though I received your message today.  I assume I subscribed.  Maybe some filtering went awry and later emails were discarded.

My AfterGRASP archive spans 7/29/2002 to 12/8/2013.  We had a private exchange in 2018.

Just in case MY emails aren't being handled by googlegroups, I've included you directly on this response.  Let me know if you did not get my prior emails.
