For September’s GSIA Winter Lecture we are welcoming Kate Peake to show a series of short films. Kate has been making short films about Gloucestershire, and her shows have proved to be popular, informative and visually beautiful.
The show for our meeting includes a 20-minute film of the aviation story of Gloucestershire, alongside a short film of the Purton hulks and Severn Bridge disaster. It also includes upbeat event films such as the Cotswold Vintage Bus Rally, Gloucester Tall Ships festival, Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza and Gloucester Goes Retro.
This is going to be very different from many of our traditional lectures, but it is going to be an interesting and enjoyable evening.
There is no charge for this event but visitors are encouraged to join the Gloucestershire Society for Industrial Archaeology. Information about membership can be found on the society website. https://gsia.org.uk/membership/
Details of future talks both in person and on-line can also be found on the website. https://gsia.org.uk/winter-lectures/
