AtOpsware I used to teach a management expectations course because I deeply believed in training. In it, I made it clear that I expected every manager to meet with her people on a regular basis. I even gave instructions on how to conduct a 1:1 meeting so there could be no excuses.

Me: Let me break it down for you. In good organizations, people can focus on their work and have confidence that if they get their work done, good things will happen for both the company and them personally. It is a true pleasure to work in an organization such as this. Every person can wake up knowing that the work they do will be efficient, effective and make a difference both for the organization and themselves. These things make their jobs both motivating and fulfilling.

You might argue that no matter how well managed a company is, it will fail without product/market fit. You might argue further that horribly managed companies that achieve massive product/market fit succeed just fine. And you would be right on both accounts. So was it really necessary for me to make such a dramatic speech and threaten one of my executives?

There has never been a company in the history of the world that had a monotonically increasing stock price. In bad companies, when the economics disappear, so do the employees. In technology companies, when the employees disappear, the spiral begins: the company declines in value, the best employees leave, the company declines in value, the best employees leave. Spirals are extremely difficult to reverse.

When I first met my friend Bill Campbell, he was chairman of Intuit, on the board of Apple and a mentor to many of the top CEOs in the industry, including Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos. However, those things did not impress me nearly as much as his time running a company called GO Corporation. GO essentially attempted to build an iPhone in 1992. The company raised more money than almost any other venture capital back startup in history and lost nearly all of it before selling itself for nearly nothing to AT&T in 1994.

Joseph was a good boss and I would have worked for him in any company. Good bosses can make work meaningful and interesting even in a bad company. They make work feel like a home away from home. Whilst a bad boss can make your work life miserable. They will micromanage you, blame you, and do everything to hold you back.

Thick-cut, double-cooked, super crispy. Belgian frites are always served with mayonnaise. The legend of Belgian frites begins with the words "Fritkot" or "friterie." The term refers to a small stand that sells a variety of fried food. In the beginning, they were open-air stands and had no seating. People bought their Frites on the street and ate them standing up. Today in Brussels and other larger cities, an authentic friterie still can be found everywhere.

Montreal style bagels are another one of our specialties. With a sourdough base and slightly thinner shape, the Montreal style bagel is denser and even a bit sweeter. We bake them in a wood fired oven on site daily so you can be sure it's not just better but fresher too!

I am so glad they opened this location. Went for lunch and expirences extremely helpful and friendly staff, a fun and environs atmosphere, and top quality food that Charlotte has come to know and love at the original location! I will be frequenting this location as it is close to home and look forward to every future visit!

Incredible place featuring house made montreal style bagels (this is a thing, google it!), sausages, and more. Excellent food, big beer selection, lots of space to enjoy. Even a dartboard and shuffleboard. Owners are super nice. Don't sleep on the house cut fries.

I recently tried The Good Wurst for the first time and I was quite pleased to see how great of a restaurant this little place is! I tried the Dan-O wurst and simply just wow! This mouthwatering creation was the epitome of perfection in terms of Brautwursts. The combination of flavors from the jalepeno mayo to the shredded ham on top to the hot white sausage were simply unrivaled. It was undoubtedly the best in class for this price in Charlotte. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness that left me craving more.

Man.... Where do I begin?? From the moment you walk into the establishment your nose is greeted with the most glorious smell of bratwurst. The customer service is great and knowledgeable, with easy recommendations for a first time diner. I opted for the Jalapeno and Cheddar Wurst with all the fixings and OMG was I surprised at the flavor that food punched. I will definitely be making this one of my weekly lunch visits going forward!
