Hey guys,
I'm forwarding you an email with all of the information about GROW Grants as well as the GHFP Grant (the one that could potentially pay for your entire internship period). Take a look at it and really think about applying. If the reason that you aren't applying is purely because of the cost of the trip, I really want to encourage you to apply. So to remind you of the timeline for this whole thing, here are the details in short:
- Fill out the GROW app that we sent out a couple weeks ago, and turn it in by this Monday, January 26th.
- We will notify you of your status by late Tuesday night (after 10pm).
- Applications for both GROW and GHFP (it's a joint application) will be due next Friday, February 3rd.
Sorry for throwing all of this at you, but you all still have a great opportunity to be a GROW intern, and get substantial financial assistance to pay for it. GROW has undoubtedly defined my college experience, and I can say the same for everyone else in GlobeMed that has been a GROW intern. So seriously think about it! And get that app in!
G-Love,
Sagar

Hey everyone!-
Please read through this entire email and forward it to the rest of your chapter once you have read it!
GROW (GrassRoots Onsite Work) Grants are awarded each year by the GlobeMed National Office to outstanding GlobeMed members who require financial assistance to participate in GROW. These awards will be allocated to individuals according to merit and need. Because we have extremely limited funding, our priority is to invest in those students who will contribute significantly to their partners while on-site and to their chapters once back on campus.
In addition to GROW Grants, this year GlobeMed will work with the Global Health Fellows Program-II (GHFP-II), a program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), to provide Summer Internship Grants for students with the highest financial need to participate in GROW. While GROW grants cover a portion of an individual's cost, GHFP-II Summer Internship grants will offer up to complete funding for a student's individual GROW experience.
For eligibility requirements and more details about each of the grants, please see the GROW and GHFP-II Grant Application. This application will be due Friday, February 3. Please make sure that everybody in your chapter recognizes that they must complete this application by February 3 if they are interested in receiving a GROW Grant, even if they have not yet been accepted as a GROW Intern.
For those applicants applying for a GHFP-II grant, finalists will be interviewed by National Office between Tuesday, February 7 and Thursday, February 9 via Skype. Individuals applying only for GROW Grants will not require interviews. Decisions will be released from National Office about ALL grants on Friday, February 10.
