Here's an updated Global Giving email to help us in our final push!! We are SO close and I know we can do it!!
SEND TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW :)
You are receiving this email because a student in GlobeMed at UCLA thinks you would like to help support youth education and outreach programs in Uganda!
GlobeMed at UCLA is a grassroots student organization that connects passionate undergraduate students with the Nwoya Youth Center, a non-governmental organization based in northern Uganda. We strive to fight for global health equity domestically and abroad by fundraising for health projects in partnership with the Nwoya Youth Center, organizing educational awareness events, and participating in community service locally in Los Angeles. To learn more, please visit www.globemedatucla.org.
1. Boy/Girl Talk Outreach
2. Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) Outreaches to Schools
3. Sports & Games for SRH Programs
4. Condom Awareness Sessions
5. Outreach to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and Young Positives
6. Sanitary Pad Distribution
These programs will help the post-war recovery of the Nwoya District by focusing on the youth, which comprise the majority of the population. The Nwoya Youth Center's presence is crucial to the recovery of the region, and this project will give youth in the Nwoya community the opportunity to reach their full potential by providing them with equitable health education, counseling, and the support they need to thrive.
Through the GlobalGiving Open Challenge we need to raise $4,000 in the month of April in order to keep our page on their site, which will help ensure the success of both this project and every future project with the Nwoya Youth Center and the future of GlobeMed at UCLA.
This is where you come in. Please help us reach our goal. It is only with your support that we can help bring positive sustainable change in Northern Uganda!
