MARKETS
Asian Market is trading lower as Hang Seng was down by 0.03% while Nikkei 225 was up by 0.34% and Chinese markets were down by 1.10%. Most Hong Kong stocks fell, with the benchmark index swinging between gains and losses, amid signs growth is slowing in China’s economy, tempering optimism global central banks will take enough measures to boost demand. Overnight U.S. markets were up by 0.77. SGX Nifty at 8:00AM was trading at 5410 with a loss of 1 point.

ECONOMY:
* The government revised economic growth data back to the fourth quarter of 2005 while leaving the estimated pace of expansion in
the last fiscal year and the three months ended March unchanged.
EQUITY MOVERS:
* Bharti Airtel Ltd.: The nation’s largest telephone company picked eight banks including JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Barclays Plc to manage
an initial share sale of its towers unit.
* Larsen & Toubro Ltd.: The president of the power division of Asia’s largest construction company by market value, Ravi Uppal, is leaving the
Firm.

* A team of about 20 Air India pilots, flight attendants, engineers and operations personnel last week arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, to
prepare to receive the plane, Boeing India President Dinesh Keskar said Aug. 24.
* Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., the nation’s biggest carmaker, failed to meet its production target for the week after operations resumed at its
riot-hit Manesar factory following a month-long closure.
* Chanda D. Kochhar, chief executive officer of ICICI Bank Ltd., dismissed concerns about rising bad debts at Indian lenders, saying the problems
of the financial sector are being exaggerated.

* Gold may advance to as much as $1,850 an ounce by year end as demand increases for the metal as a haven, Philip Klapwijk, the global head of
metal analytics at Thomson Reuters GFMS Ltd., said on Aug. 24. Prices could rise to $1,700 in the next three weeks, he told reporters in the Indian
city of Hyderabad.
