Call for MSH Executive Technology Officer, 2025-2028: Apply by 3 July 2025
The Mormon Scholars in the Humanities (MSH), founded in 2007, is an independent scholarly community that supports faith-lit humanities scholarship whose Board organizes an annual MSH conference. Our current Executive Technology Officer, Tod Robbins, has successfully completed multiple renewable terms on that Board and is now outgoing. Given these regular changes, the MSH Board now seeks a dynamic new Executive Technology officer to join as a Board member. We encourage applications from the broadest set of people with humanistic and technical interests.
What does the Technology officer role entail?
The Executive Technology Officer will occupy a voting position on the MSH Board for a renewable three-year term, beginning Fall 2025-Summer 2028.
Responsibility over the supervision of all MSH technology matters, including external conference management and internal needs of the Board.
A modest annual stipend subject to (the otherwise volunteer) Executive Committee approval.
Covered MSH conference fees during their term of service.
What is the Technology officer responsible for?
Overseeing all technological efforts for the MSH Board. The Technology Officer leads the following efforts, managing all technological & related AV needs during the annual conference (such as the live, in-person management of remote presentations at the conference) as well as facilitating the Board on its use of technological resources (such as Google files, data management, and communication tools). The successful Technology Officer will collaborate and support all efforts of the Board, especially administrative, financial, and publicity efforts. The expected monthly burden is likely two to four hours on average, cresting in May for the conference.
Aiming to sustain and improve the MSH Board’s vision for faith-lit humanistic scholarship. (We welcome the broadest possible intersection of technical and humanistic interests.)
Participating, whenever available, in brief monthly MSH Broad meetings (usually on the afternoon of the second Sunday of each month).
Welcoming and responding to brief annual performance reviews.
