Hello Global Health Supporters,

We would like to invite you to participate in our Raise the Roof Campaign an effort to finalize construction on our vocational school in Leogane, Haiti. Join the cause by making a donation of $100 (or more) to finish the construction and literally raise the roof of our vocational midwifery school. We need $20,000 to finish the project. Your donation will directly fund the construction of Ecole CAMEJO Professional Training School in Leogane, Haiti. Be one of the donors to participate in this sustainable development effort.

To learn more watch our video on Ecole CAMEJO: http://youtu.be/QC8CjAf1QW8

Donations can be made via http://raisetheroof.eventbrite.com/

Program History:

Starting with a 2008 grant from the US State Department to develop innovative education in Haiti, Professor Blair Gifford (U of Colorado) has worked to establish local ties in Haiti to increase the number of qualified health professional workers.  Following the 2010 earthquake, Dr. Gifford has focused his efforts on lessening terribly  high maternal mortality rates throughout Haiti.  With recent grants from Rotary International, Dr. Gifford will soon be introducing the first midwifery educational program in southern Haiti.  The program will be started at his new school - Ecole Professionel Camejo - in September 2012.  Camejo is a Haitian owned hospital campus in the city of Leogane, and Leogane was the epicenter of the 2010 quake and suffered a 20 percent casualty rate.

Warm regards,
