I see the first project ID is 13 - can you tell me the higher limit?
Of course this will grow, but I'm interested in knowing for some AI
stuff (i.e. is this number likely a project before we look it up?)

I think things like this would be helpful in the documentation of the
appropriate fields on the API reference website. I had a similar
question regarding gift certificate codes too. A suggestion would be
to keep them to the minimum length while still being random (maybe 10
characters)? 20 characters is quite a lot for a user to stare at and
type in or such.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that 20 characters is a lot. I want to move to formating them in an easier to read fashion eventually (e.g. ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP like a credit card).

The project ids are sequential ints auto generated on the project table. Our technical predecessors deleted a few rows very early on, so it's not entirely sequential now. Also, some projects have been fully funded or have been removed from the site, creating gaps.

As of this moment, the highest project id is 4722. (Note you may not be able to access this through the API right now as the project may not be active on the site yet). We've been adding more orgs and projects, so expect this to turn over to 5000 before too long.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Kevin
