doing that I have a google news page with pieces that I like to use to
look at, preferred sections with about 3 news stories showing on it at
a time.
The interesting concern at that point is that you're using a computer
search technology to narrow down possible articles to look at based on
the lanugage I choose. At first I was choosing "Climate Change" and
that was generally spitting out a lot of news stories from Europe
(http://news.google.com/?q=%22climate+change%22&ie=UTF-8)
It came to my attention that I was missing some NYTimes and other US
news sources, so I decided to re-structure my search instead to pull up
news articles using "Global Warming":

I have my own news page to show me news that I find important over the
course of the day, and google actually lets you edit the layout, so I
like to stick the two sections next to each other side by side, to see
the number of hits a particular story will get in each area, because
some of the global warming stories don't show up in climate change, and
vice versa.
