Brad, thank you for the Grist article - meanwhile, across the planet, it appears that the nuclear power plant problems in Japan have indeed escalated to the point where it is more serious than the accident at 3 Mile Island in the US:

In light of this, municipalities and the county agreeing to current plans by Florida Power & Light to double the number of nuclear reactors (from two to four) at the southeast end of Miami Dade County appear, to put it mildly, to be ill-advised.
