CHEATING OF TELECOM GIANT DU IN UAE


Under the telecom giant Du’s representatives are cheating so many illiterate and educated innocent people in UAE without given proper details and get signature for 1 year contract for postpaid connections. Without the knowledge of the customers the Du representatives migrating the Du mobile connection account from pre-paid to postpaid and forcefully asking them to pay minimum AED 150/month for at least 1 year. On the joining time they are offering that there is 3 months free connection and after 3 month you will pay only AED 75/- for 1 year. This plan is under Smart Plan150. You also freely get 6 GB data & 300 minutes for local & International calls. Poor people signed the paper and activate the account.

After 2-3 months all of them get the huge amount bills. When we are complaining to the Du, they are say that they don’t know the representatives, there are no such offers and you must pay the amounts. Otherwise they will take legal actions against them. If customer wants to disconnect the account they had to pay a Dh300 early disconnection fee.

There is rule that below AED 2500/month salary didn’t allow the Post paid mobile plans. But so many poor innocent labours are cheated by Du and forced to pay huge amounts. At the joining time Du representatives cunningly didn’t asking about their monthly salary. Below AED 2500/- salary holders also forced to pay the cancellation fees of AED 300/-. When anybody complaints to Du officials, they are nicely escaping and saying that they don’t know that representatives. But the representatives submitted applications are approved within minutes by Du authorities and they gets the commissions from Du on time also….!!!!! It is the time to take strong action against the fraudulent activity and non-eligible sales of postpaid plans of Du.    

Here I am given you a complaint given to Du regarding their cheating for your reference (please check the attached files) :

I am a customer of DU since 15-06-2016. On January 27, 2017 Du’s two representatives meet me on my office and told me that they have an offer of three months free usage of Du connection without any payment and thereafter I will pay monthly 150/- AED. And also I will get monthly 6 GB data & 300 minutes for local & International calls. They signed a contract without revealing details.

But, on March 29, 2017 I received a message from Du and asking me to pay AED 210.30 for 01/02/17 – 28/02/17. I reached UAE Exchange on 01-04-17 for Du payment; they told me that my Du Bill amount is AED 716.06. When I enquire about it, Du person told me that AED 467.05 for the Bill for the month of March. So I decided to cancel my Du account and send complaints to Du’s Customer care centre through email. But your representative told me that they are helpless about my complaint and again go to DU Head Office in Dubai Internet City. I humbly request them to reduce my tariff to 75 AED/month otherwise changes it from postpaid to prepaid without any fines, otherwise disconnect my Du phone connection. I am a poor victim of your cunning representatives, who are taking sign from me on your contract without given hissen cheating real rules & regulations. Du representatives are telling lies about there plans and payments. They told that the actual payment is only 75 AED, first 3 months no payment, after pay 75 AED for coming months. But customers will get the huge amount bills from Du after three months, it didn’t give you the payment exemptions and offered payment reduction. They forcefully asking to pay minimum amount of AED 450/- and more at least for 1 year.

 I visit Du’s Ibn Battua office on 04-04-17 and pay AED 1020/- for cancellation Du account and postpaid contract. On 16-04-17, I received a email from Du (Mr. Abdelmohsen Shahin) offer me that, “Please be informed that in reference to your request number 1-84307768669, our concerned team already contacted you and informed you that you will have a 50% discount on Smart Plan 150 for 12 months and a refund of AED 100.

 Hence, you will be paying AED 75 for 12 months and you will get the AED 100 migration fee refunded on your next bill date 01/05/2017.

As per this email, I decided to continue the Du account. On 30-07-17, I received a email from Du saying that, “Please note that as per reference number 1-91444349443, we had conversation over the phone as per your request we are sending the confirmation mail that we waive off 100 AED for migration fees and 150 AED for 50% Discount for 2 Bill Cycle on 9th July 2017, and for upcoming 4 Bill cycle you will receive 50 % Discount , as 50 % Discount for only 6 Bill Cycle.”

Unfortunately, again I received the huge bills (AED 389.67) from Du’s billing section without considering the early promised offers. I lodged complaint to Du’s Ibn Battuta Mall office, two times I talk with Billing section through video conferencing from Du office, but they didn't ready to provide me the said offers and asking me to pay AED 150/month. Ibn Battua Mall Du Branch Manager registered a complaint on 12-10-17 (Complaint No: T.T 1-98737756793) regarding my genuine request for apply the early given offers.

On 12-10-17 I am again paid AED 225.50 (Bill No; 24147 & 24148, copy attached) on Du’s Ibn Battuta Mall office. As per the DU Offer, I will pay only AED 75/month from August onward.

On 14-10-17, I humbly request them to disconnect my DU mobile service (Mob. No: …………) at earliest. Please don’t billing to me from this date onward.

 

Note : Here I am given one attachment of a News from Gulf News dated 07-09-2015, “Agents sell postpaid mobile connections to workers”

I received your bill for AED 389.67 up to 22-10-17. Early I sent a complaint for 4 bills free for regularize early paid AED 300 for cancellation. You offer me 50% bill discount for upcoming 6 bills from July. But till date it didn't activated. 

On 28-9-17 I visit your office in Ibnubattutta mall (see attach file), on video conferencing your person promised me that don't pay the bills, my 50% discount offer will activates very soon. Unfortunately I get the orders to pay the big amounts. Please check the below mentioned your offer letters, that I early received. 

I humbly requests you to withdraw the given bills and provide me the early promised offers. Waiting for your favourable reply/call.

At first your two agents get my signature to your 6 month contract for post paid Du connection with giving false and lie statements. Then i received huge bills from you. Then i pay the bills and also give AED 300 for cancel the Du Mobile account. Then your DU Offer section call to me and offer me they will give me 50% discount for AED 150 monthly payment for 1 year (i.e. pay AED 75/month). As humbly request you to disconnect my DU mobile service (Mob. No: 0521912115) at earliest. Please don;t billing to me from this date onward.

Ibn Battua Mall Du Branch Manager registered a complaint on 12-10-17 (Complaint No: T.T 1-98737756793) regarding my genuine request for apply the early given offers.

 

On 12-10-17m i again paid AED 225.50 (Bill No; 24147 & 24148, copy attached) on your Ibn Battuta Mall Du office. As per the DU Offer, i will pay only AED 75/month from August onward.

 

(please find Du letters from Mr. Abdelmohsen Shahin, Dtd. 16-04-17, request number 1-84307768669, your offer letter said "Please be informed that in reference to your request number 1-84307768669, our concerned team already contacted you and informed you that you will have a 50% discount on Smart Plan 150 for 12 months and a refund of AED 100. Hence, you will be paying AED 75 for 12 months and you will get the AED 100 migration fee refunded on your next bill date 01/05/2017"). 

 

As humbly request you to disconnect my DU mobile service (Mob. No: 0521912115) at earliest. Please don;t billing to me from this date onward.
