We saw:
-From Oakland California, US: Toaster Black & Decker does not stay engaged for heater to stay on
-From Boulder Colorado US: Toaster Hamilton Beach - Type T95 toaster Model: 22614R Series:A4181DL 2019 It does not hold down to toast.It does the work of toasting except that you have to hold down the lever to do the work.
-From Massachusetts US: Toaster Oven Broiler Cuisinart TOB-30BC 2018 When I press the start button nothing happens, light doesn’t come on to indicate power (intro presentation https://youtu.be/lOSxzGATkTg?t=408 return from breakout room: https://youtu.be/lOSxzGATkTg?t=4913)
-From Berkeley California US: Sewing machine Singer #648. Touch and sew. The mechanism below the bobbin does not turn, thus, the bobbin does not turn, function. I have opened the case, tried to reach the mechanism from below but a metal bar is in my way. I opened it up from above but can see nothing I can do. It is 52 years old and repair shops say it’s too old, no parts, etc but I love it!!
-From San Mateo California US: Apple display Apple A1407 2011 It turns off every once in a while and seems to crash my computer
-From Bruxelles Belgium: Headset Logitech A-00064 Suddenly, during a call, the speaker started making noise and than stopped working. So probably it's a bad contact. The audio is still working fine. I only checked to be sure that it's not a 'software ' issue: I checked if the speaker settings on my computer were ok, if my browser / video call system had access to the microphone, tried to use it in different types of video calls (but it didn't).
-From Boulder Colorado US: Kettle Aroma AWK-108 2015 It won't work (i.e. stay turned on, boil water). I did but since it's an electrical repair I am scared to fiddle around on it as I have no hands on experience with expert-ish guidance.
-From Boulder Colorado US: Steam Mop Shark S3501N 2015 Won't generate steam-Fixed

01:49:57 greene_land: those toaster element connections often degrade because of heat and just disintegrate. you can’t solder because it gets too hot in use. crimping is the only way i know how. aluminum is not a good choice because of heat. if it is a spade lug it should be replaced

01:56:39 greene_land: it is very difficult to make any kind of solder stick to Nichrome or Tungsten elements, they form an oxide on the surface that solder won’t adhere
01:57:52 greene_land: if you stumble on the right flux it might work. i have used Allstate Duzall on stainless and it works. don’t know about Nichrome
