LG 47lg5010-zd TV Internal Short to Housing

At Saturday's Virtual Fixit Clinic (2020-05-30 554 DLIV Virtual Fixit Clinic Harvard University Cambridge MA US 18:00 GMT) Alan showed his LG 47lg5010-zd LCD TV:

LG  47lg5010-zd 2010 Has power 3 red led flashes white screen for 2 seconds then powers down repeats using on / standby button Taken back off reseated cables research on net

Alan emailed: "Looks like TV had bang on top causing pcb plastic locating lugs to break and C20 capacitor shorting to grounded metal plate pulling to much current through ribbon cable causing burn mark.

"With metal plate and ribbon cable removed C20 still measures short circuit still soldered to pcb.

"Are you able to provide value of SMD C20 capacitor and it’s function in circuit."

That's some great troubleshooting and diagnosis on Alan's part IMO.

The Fixit Coaches working with Alan said they'd try to help him hunt down the value of the capacitor C20: please add to this thread if there are any updates.
